Our Overseer

Overseer Eric Scott, Sr. was born in Baltimore, MD on July 22, 1971 to Mother Lillian Scott and the late Elder Charles W. Scott, Sr.  He is the youngest of 4 children born to this union.


Overseer graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1989. He attended Morgan State University, where he received his B.A. in Music. While at Morgan, he served as the lead student accompanist for the renowned Morgan State University Choir, under the tutelage of the late Dr. Nathan M. Carter.

At the age of 5 years old Eric served as the church drummer at Lively Stone Church of God in Christ., where his father served as Pastor. After much prayer, God alerted his father that he was to be the church psalmist. His father anointed his hand and shortly thereafter the gift that so many have been blessed by, was made manifest.
  
In 1993, Eric married Marsha Brown, his “Brown Sugar”. God blessed this union with three strapping young men; Eric Jr., Aaron and Darrin. He gained a new title and is Pop-Pop to his first granddaughter Alexandria affectionately known as Alex.

In 1994, God blessed Eric to start the ministry of “Eric Scott & Company”.  He recorded his first CD in 1995. In addition to traveling extensively throughout the United States, the Bahamas, Spain, Germany and Japan with the MSU Choir, Eric was blessed to travel with “Company” to Switzerland and Italy, as well as the Eastern region of the United States ministering the Gospel through song. 
  
Minister Scott accepted the call to preach the gospel in August 1996. In August 2003, he was ordained an Elder in the Church of God In Christ.
  
In 2004, Elder Scott was appointed State Minister of Music for the Greater Maryland First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop David W. Spann, Sr. And in 2018 was reinstalled under Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop J. L. Lyles, Jr. 

June 2017 Overseer Scott earned his Bachelors of Biblical Studies, and his Graduate Degree in 2018. He is currently perusing his Masters Degree in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Counseling. 

 

In 2018, Overseer was reinstalled as the State Minister of Music for the Greater Maryland First Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.


He attended Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ, under Superintendent Tony W. Torain for three years until he was sent out to Pastor Unity Progressive Memorial C.O.G.I.C. on January 20, 2007.  Later

that same year together with his wife founded Restoration Family Life Ministries Church of God in Christ.

 

In September of 2018, God instructed Overseer Eric and Pastor Marsha that the season of Restoration Family Life Ministries had ended, and that the ministry should be a Lighthouse in the community. Overseer Scott obeyed the voice of the Lord, and Lighthouse Worship Center was Birthed and Established in October of 2018.
